There are a lot of true things with this video but with my Own personal experience, it has been the best thing I’ve ever joined. I’ve joined an awesome gym and have met some cool people and I’m getting fit , so ig it depends on the gym you join. So far the sport has changed my life for the better

The match itself wasn't too competitive, but the commentary was pretty educational -- never seen a video where a fighter explains every decision like that. I'd love to see a video where the other grappler gives his running commentary on a separate audio track.

One isn't better than the other , depends on each individual athlete etc. However it seems wrestling has worked better for a base when doing something like mma. When can only do ju jitsu or wrestling it's a diff story but both are good to know.

Interesting timing. I just took two intro classes and both times had overzealous beginners trying to prove something. And an instructor failing to instruct. That was it for my jiu jitsu career. At least for the foreseeable future.

Many see BJJ as a winning tool against everything and everyone. These people are on TV, on the cover of sports magazines and have their own sportswear collection. But when a young guy gets his ass kicked by an old wrestler on his mat in his sport, it's time to consider where he stands in the food chain.😂

I'm a striker and I fully appreciate how formidable wrestling is for self defense. However, my only complaint is that I can't see destroying my knees on an asphalt parking as being the best choice for self defense.

He's a wrestler, he can beat you @ wrestling !! How many times were you pinned ?? All of your chokes were made illegal in Olympic wrestling in the early 1900s . How would you do boxing 🥊 a boxer ?? Likely as good as me , a heavy bag ! It's easy to set someone up if they don't know what's coming ! Situational awareness comes with training and lots of experience. Took me the earning of a bachelor degree in philosophy to have teachers instructing me that saying: I wasted my time... Then dropping some hard truth shoved into my stubborn mind: time is a man made concert, time doesn't exist, time is an abstract entity. Wasting time ? Wasting what ? Then go ahead and proclaim you gianed time by doing more wrestling ? How exactly do you gain time ? This psychological abstraction is similar to the theory of: I'm born in the wrong era or wrong side of history. You're right here where you're suppose to be. How to progress in jiu jitsu but not get cauliflower ear? Is that an inevitability to progress beyond even a white belt? Or it possible with headgear and is wearing headgear in sparing frowned upon?

I'm just a white belt but I use wing chun in the grip fighting. Helps prevent underhooks and collar ties.
